Recorded by engineer Chun Hakju at his Mushroom Recording Studio in Seoul and mastered by Matthew Barnhart at Chicago Mastering Service.

The surf-inspired indie rock/pop quartet from Busan, South Korea released a compilation album, RSD EP and split 7” single (w/ Otoboke Beaver) on Damnably in 2017 – their first releases (& tour) outside South Korea. In 2018, the band showcase at SXSW, play at The Great Escape festival, joining Otoboke Beaver’s ‘ATTYUUMA’ (blink of an eye) tour, and embark on a solo UK/EU tour. Their new album will be released on April 13th from Damnably and Electric Muse. Friends since 5th grade Jae Young (Bass) and Kim Byungkyu (guitar) met drummer kang Semin at high school and played in bands together until the winter of 2012, when one day they were drinking tea and beer at a tea shop in Nampo-dong, and Sumi arrived. They liked her speaking voice and immediately offered her a spot as the vocalist in a new band that would become Say Sue Me. Sumi Choi turned out to be a natural at songwriting. Semin sadly suffered trauma from a fall. New drummer Changwon stands in while they await Semin’s recovery.

Recent Press “…Because its vibrant and catchy instrumentation does so much work, “Old Town” suggests less the ache of being alone in a city than it does the tingly feeling that accompanies a life-changing milestone. Choi ended up sticking around Busan and forming Say Sue Me with some new friends; “Old Town” proves that it’s fortunate she stayed.” PITCHFORK

“The band plays a loose-limbed amalgam of jangly indie-pop, handclap-rich girl-group classics and the lightly rumbling sounds of early surf-rock. At once stylish and timeless, it’s a sound that’s been called "surfgaze,” which… actually isn’t too far off, as descriptors go.“ NPR

” “After Falling Asleep” channels the wailing guitar work of My Bloody Valentine while pairing Sumi Choi’s introspective vocals with bombastic instrumentation. The sonic dreamscape is met with a lyrical one, and she navigates both without shying away from deeply personal thoughts…“ Billboard

“Twee, but not too twee, Busan, South Korea four-piece Say Sue Me is my favorite recent random discovery… Really sweet, melodic rock that makes me feel like I’m in high school.” The Fader

“… an addictive amalgam of sugary indie pop and gritty surf that showcases a finely-tuned sense of melody and technical skill… Nary a song on Say Sue Me isn’t a total ear worm.” Bandcamp Daily

"Hazy, somewhat melancholy, but exuding a beautifully golden glow that lingers for long after the track has finished…a wonderful burst of guitar pop,” Gold Flake Paint
