Artificial Things, by Eerie Point
Born out of the Rust Belt, Eerie Point embodies a sound that blends the alternative, indie, and blues roots of the band’s five members into something altogether new and exciting. With influences that span decades and range from classic artists such as Bob Dylan and the Rolling Stones, to grunge acts like Pearl Jam and Soundgarden, and all the way to contemporary artists like Interpol and Cage The Elephant, Eerie Point prides itself on its diverse, yet deeply refined sound. Avoiding an established genre, Eerie Point incorporates multiple styles of music to create a unique sound all its own.
“Artificial Things” is the lead-off single from Eerie Point’s debut album Local Fame, released on Saturday, January 12, 2019. “Artificial Things” blends alternative and indie influences into a lively, driving song that speaks to the musicality and technical proficiency of each of Eerie Point’s five members. Eerie Point is comprised of Steve Becker as the singer, Ryan Dalton as lead guitarist, Chase Dusseau as rhythm guitarist, Dan Hatfield as bassist, and Michael Straub as the drummer. Eerie Point has been performing live since the summer of 2016 and has seen a tremendous amount of success in and around their home of Toledo, Ohio, and won the $1500 grand prize in Innovation Concerts’ Best of the Best 2018 competition.
