“I spend a lot of time in my room playing music,” Hugo says.

‘Every time i write a song it is usually at night and I will usually stay up until ¾ AM, as I usually will try to finish, or at least get all the main idea down, in the same day/night. The recording process is usually a maximum of two mics at a time (including drums). I prefer just use the first or second take to get a more human feel and vibes to the song.“

A nighttime session like this yielded the track "For All I Know.” Hugo continues: “Something cool about this song is that the lyrics were pretty much improvised. I had the melody in mind and I didn’t want to lose it. The lyrics are mostly about how I can struggle to stay creative every day in a room, and how it comes and goes in matter of minutes.”
