Don’t Need You
Michelle Cavaleri (Chèlle) is a pop singer-songwriter from Toronto, Ontario. Before she turned 12, Michelle picked up the ability to play Piano as well as the Guitar. At the age of 13, Michelle started writing original music and performing in bars and venues across Toronto.
Soon after, Michelle became self-taught in the art of production and began to cut demos on her own. Michelle continued to explore her musical curiosity when she fell in love with jazz music, leading her to pursue a degree in vocal jazz performance.
Michelle began to receive recognition for her unique talent early on in her career. In 2013, she appeared on YTV’s singing competition “SuperGroup”. Michelle began her ventures to Nashville, Tennessee, in 2014, where she began to establish herself in the songwriting community. Here she would perform regularly and get the opportunity to cut her debut singles for her solo project.
Michelle is no stranger to the YouTube community either, having gained over 2,000,000 total views on her channel. Michelle was signed to Akashic Rekords in 2017, and released 4 singles with the label. In 2020, Michelle parted ways with Akashic Rekords and began her journey as an independent artist, rebranding herself as “Chèlle” with her summer hit, “Don’t Need You”. Chèlle’s instinctive pop music sensibilities stem from her love of jazz and classical music.
Her music is known to be catchy, heartfelt and radio-friendly. Chèlle is set to release her sophomore single, “Hallucinating You” on January 14th, and is currently recording follow-up material for 2021.
