POESY is quickly rising to her rightful place as one of Canada’s most exciting, emerging Musicians. Classically trained in both singing and piano from the tender age of 4, the musical world has become POESY’s playground, having had vast experience in musical theatre, numerous rock bands and even operatic singing.
With an eclectic taste and impressive vocal range, POESY takes her influences from innovative, enigmatic artists such as Kate Bush and Freddie Mercury, as well as 90s alternative rock queens PJ Harvey, Tori Amos, and Alanis Morissette. The Toronto-based artist has formed a gritty and unmistakable sound that demands to be heard.
POESY first introduced herself to global audiences with her debut EP, GLASS BOX CONFESSIONAL. This project saw POESY fully embody her artistry, exhibiting deeply personal and candid lyricism that gave fans an intimate, authentic insight into both her heart and mind. POESY’s ability to remain original yet relatable is one of her key strengths as a songwriter. By pairing inspiration from her favourite novels with an air of vulnerability from her own experiences, POESY’s dark and powerful alt-rock rhythms make it possible to dance, cry, wonder and hope, all whilst making you feel like you’re not alone.
Through the use of ethereal keys, evocative guitars, and off-kilter beats, POESY unleashes her signature siren’s sound that conjures nineties pop femme Fatales and eighties rock goddesses— all while showcasing fierce independence and singular style of her own, filled with big drums & bittersweet melodies. POESY’s latest single, ‘Diamonds’ perfectly encapsulates that distinct sound and lyrical prowess. But with a big voice and even bigger dreams, POESY is certainly a force to be reckoned with.
