Afghan-Dutch recording artist, writer and producer Ferdous are back with his new single ‘Starlight’. The first release after his highly anticipated and mesmerising debut EP ‘For My Own Sake’ – consisting of a drifting atmospheric synth-led production and haunting voices feels poignant in a time of uncertainty. The track is released together with a 3d designed lyric-video made by Ferdous himself while stuck in his studio.

“While making this song I felt a bit desperate for an escape from myself and everything around me. I retreated to the Belgian countryside just to finish my debut EP in isolation, but there were moments where I would “drift off“ and I felt the need to start something fresh just to get my mind away from reality. That’s kind of how this song came to life, the tone is a bit dark on the surface but for me, it felt like a great relief and gave me the escape I needed at that moment in my life.”

As half of the Pop duo Klyne, Ferdous wrote and produced their self-titled debut album and their single ‘Water Flow’ reached over 22m streams on Spotify and Ferdous toured extensively across Europe, the US and the UK opening for the likes of Metronomy and Christine and the Queens. Having just started releasing songs independently, Ferdous’s layered and delicate new work was immediately picked by heavyweight tastemakers from i-D to DUMMY.
