Formed in South London in 2019, Rumara are a duo that who make cinematic electronic pop cast through a fractured lens. Vocalist Laura V and producer Yujin Matsutoya are songwriters and multi-instrumentalists whose darkly mesmeric synths, shimmering strings and powerful multi-layered vocals all coalesce into heights of searing emotion, like the soundtrack to a gathering storm. Their name derives from the Portuguese word ‘rumar’, meaning ‘to move towards’, and reflects the restless, ruminative quality of their sound.

‘Storm’ is a synth-led and strings-infused love/hate song to the city, splicing hard-edged electronica with off-kilter anthemic pop. It is Rumara’s debut single and first release from their upcoming debut EP due out later this year.
