Kieran was brought up in the suburbs of Nottingham, spending his formative years playing the guitar and singing various in punk and indie bands on the local circuit, playing from as young as 12 years old. After being gifted a guitar and recording software by his Uncle, he quickly began recording his own music, learning other instruments in the process.
During his studies at Leeds Conservatoire, Kieran began releasing various, homespun recordings as ‘Kern Parks’ that allowed him to begin playing shows across the country, sign with Beth Shalom Records for a string of singles, and his music be covered by publications such as ’Line of Best Fit’, ’Popoptica’ and ’Frontview Magazine’.
After years spent under the moniker ‘Kern Parks’, Kieran sheds the name in order to provide a fresh start for his music and let go of the worries that held him back.
Produced, mixed and mastered entirely by Kieran using his home studio set up, incorporating foley and the natural ambience of London apartments, the track is proof of his undying work ethic and love for his craft. Channelling his love for both Electronic music as well as Folk and Indie, ‘I Sold Them’ provides a perfect blend of delicate piano passages and meticulously programmed drum and bass patches. With vocal manipulations akin to Bon Iver and James Blake, alongside his own vocal acrobatics, Kieran creates an undeniable feeling of both melancholy and relief.
