This song is in dedication to my grandmother, who essentially raised my brother and me alongside our mom.
“Sweet Company” revisits the places where she is no longer present, like the kitchen and living room where we spent countless hours.

It took a while to grasp and understand her death. “Sweet Company” helped me accept what happened; a thank you for her presence and everything that she did for us, and acknowledgement that perhaps one day we’ll see each other again.

Sketched by my partner, the Nordic folk-art cover is an aerial shot of the street that my grandmother grew up on in Flores Island, Azores, Portugal. Surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean, this was her favourite place in the world.

She was often the best and sweetest company.
