Home > New music > A conflict with one’s own identity

I Don’t Wanna Fight Anymore is an indie pop song with sparkling synths, slick bass licks, crisp guitars and bouncing rhythms all complimenting the fun vocals of Julia Breen.

Lyrically the song is about a conflict with one’s own identity. It’s about the constant internal struggle of trying to figure out who you are. I Don’t Wanna Fight Anymore is the first single of 2022 for Similar Kind, with an EP to come in late spring.

Similar Kind is an indie pop band from Norwalk, CT. It originated as just a few friends jamming in a garage and has blossomed into a five-piece band playing shows all over the northeast. Similar Kind has played with acts such as Sunflower Bean, Hot Flash Heat Wave, No Vacation & more.

The band is currently working on a follow-up EP to their debut “Faces & Places” a project chock-full of indie pop, reminiscent of The Cure and Talking Heads, described as “dance-ready synth-pop. equal parts R&B, pop, and indie rock, the EP is a highly-polished, thoroughly-confident release”.
