Danish artist Maddy gets loud to shut everything out on her brand new single, ‘Dum Dum Dum’ – written and recorded with noise-rock modern legend, Sune Wagner of The Raveonettes.

After releasing a streak of songs during the last couple of years, Copenhagen-based newcomer Maddy pulled the plug and started trippin’ to LA.

“I’ve been trying to fit in and find my own space in this arty world but eventually I realized, I was in a personal crisis. So, I booked a ticket to LA, rented a room in an old, spacey lady’s flat, knowing I was on a mission to create something new but still unknown. Then I met Sune,” Maddy tells.

For more than 20 years, Danish-American Sune Wagner has shaped the sound of rock, internationally, as songwriter and producer of the critically acclaimed noise-duo, The Raveonettes. In the strange big city of LA, far away from home, Maddy forgot all about her artistic anxieties in the studio with Sune and a new journey began.

“The hook of ‘Dum Dum Dum’ basically just sounds but it’s also a melody that describes an escape from reality. I needed a song about what life is like when insignificant little things and thoughts feel excessively overmuch. ‘Dum Dum Dum’ is for when your body and mind call for a break and a song for everyone to not always try and strive for perfection but just let go and enjoy the ride.”

The simple structure of a repeating, raw bass line with a stomping beat on Sune’s unique noisescapes and Maddy’s intimate vocal became a brand-new start for the young artist. The dynamic duo has created several songs together with ‘Dum Dum Dum’ as the lead single of more to come…
