Exploring anxiety and unworthiness

Melbourne-based artist Leo (they/them) have released their debut single ‘Doctor’ via GRRRL GROANNN.

“‘Doctor’ is a metaphor for anxiety and the symptoms associated with the condition. ‘Doctor’ considers the journey of acknowledging the suffering from anxiety and the subsequent process of asking for and receiving help. The song explores anxiety as well as feelings of unworthiness.”

Leo (they/them) is a Naarm/Melbourne based artist. After playing solo for many years, Leo is expanding to a full band for live shows in early 2022. Taking inspiration from the eeriness of Nick Cave, the delivery of Soccer Mommy and the sincerity of Stella Donnelly, their genre is up for interpretation. Bringing a lyric style that can be described as brutal, Leo’s songs carry a similar feeling to that of a friend telling you a secret late at night.

Under the management of Indie Midlands and signed to label GRRRL GROANNN, Leo is finally set to release their music into the world.
