Slow and melodious electro-pop grooves
Armed with his vintage synths and drumkits, Basteed composes slow and melodious electro-pop grooves that celebrate love, dissect human relationships or take us back to the childhood memories we all share.
During his childhood spent in Iran, Mexico and all over France, Basteed developed a passion for piano and began composing.
As a student, playing in piano bars and psychedelic rock bands made him discover his love for the stage. Later, from his London, Barcelona or Copenhagen apartments, and in hundreds of airport halls, Basteed composes, on his computer, the tracks of his first album (release scheduled for June 20).
Contrary to the codes of the “French Touch” movement, the singer and self-taught musician have created his own musical identity. Basteed mixes, masters and reinvents his new wave, electro and trip-hop influences in an astonishing cocktail, handling ethers as varied as Pink Floyd, Human League, Bonobo, Air or Depeche Mode. Throughout the album, his style becomes coherent. Basteed’s musical universe is deep, often dark, sometimes more optimistic, but always attached to a rare aestheticism.
