Alternative rock sound fronted by riffs on the thundering bass and a heavy baritone-guitar
’Connected’ is the hard-hitting debut single by the Copenhagen-based alternative rock duo.
They grew up as best mates and used to skip school together as they’d rather explore the loud sounds of their rehearsal space than fall asleep at their desks. When they eventually left home on the remote island of Bornholm, Denmark, and moved to the capital of Copenhagen, Jesper Møller and Jakob Hjarsø created a new free space together, putting up their gear in the back of an abandoned car workshop to carve out an alternative rock sound fronted by riffs on the thundering bass and a heavy baritone-guitar!
“In a magical and somewhat coincidental way, ‘Connected’ ended up being the first No Project One song. Its sound instantly hits this pure feeling in both of us – something that is both raw and powerful and an atmosphere you can step into. The lyrics sum up a theme of human connection and feeling comfortable in what you do, where you are and with whom. A moment where nothing else really matters,” Jesper and Jakob explain.
The two 23-year-old musicians have both produced music for years – one with roots in hip-hop and the other working with more cinematic soundscapes. As No Project One they found back to their mutual love for rock and its many nuances, attitude and energy. Jesper plays the drums and bass and Jakob champions the guitar while they carefreely swap being the lead singer.
”To us, No Project One means that you rarely succeed in what you do the first time around – that everything must be tried and explored. This project reflects our abilities, curiosity and ideas that narratively tells the story of where we are and the fact, that this band is No Project One.”
