A dynamic indie/alternative rock band takes the scene by storm
Toronto-based indie/alternative rock band Fighting Chance! is fronted by the dynamic sibling duo of James and Joe Flanagan.
These brothers are the masterminds behind a sound that seamlessly blends the sunny, nostalgic vibes of 90’s radio rock with the electrifying energy of modern powerpop. Their unique style draws inspiration from Pavement, Weezer, and Nada Surf, as well as 60’s legends Simon & Garfunkel and the Kinks.
Fighting Chance! is more than just a band, they’re a movement. The name, borrowed from a ’90s self-defence VHS that one of the band members was required to watch in school, embodies the group’s philosophy and unwavering determination to succeed. According to Google, “fighting chance” means “the possibility of success if great effort is made.” And that’s precisely what Fighting Chance is! embodies – the relentless pursuit of success through hard work and unrelenting passion for their craft.
Fighting Chance! has independently released their debut EP – a five-track powerhouse that showcases the Flanagan brothers’ early power punk songwriting collaborations. This EP declares where they believe rock music should be headed in 2023 and is set to ignite the music world. The release of this EP will be celebrated with a high-energy show at the Monarch Tavern, where fans can experience the raw energy and undeniable talent of Fighting Chance! for themselves.
