Clean Out Louis Invite You on a Manic Pop Trip with New Single ‘Hold Me’
The experimental Copenhagen duo drop a mind-bending, genre-blending anthem ahead of their debut EP. Copenhagen’s genre-defying pop alchemists Clean Out Louis are back with a glittering new single, ‘Hold Me’, out now – and it’s a wild ride through the technicolor corners of the psyche.
Following a string of breakout singles including ‘Foreigner’ and ‘I’m In Love’, the duo continue to cement their place as one of Scandinavia’s most exciting sonic shapeshifters. With ‘Hold Me’, Clean Out Louis blend warped pop sensibilities, experimental textures, and unhinged “la la la” choruses that bounce between heartbreak and euphoria — all without losing their raw, human charm.

“‘Hold Me’ is kind of like a hop-on tourist bus ride through the light and dark layers of the mind,” explains vocalist Sylvester Zabello. “It’s a musical trip past the good and the bad, where you meet yourself, get surprised, and remember things you’d forgotten — even things that mattered more than you realized.”
For drummer and co-producer Mingus Runge, the track — and the forthcoming EP — is a celebration of chaos and cohesion. “In our world, boundaries are fluid. We love mixing genres, instruments, and sounds that shouldn’t go together — but somehow do. The EP is every weird and wonderful path we’ve gone down together without knowing where we’d end up. It can be haunting. It can be catchy as hell. And it’s time to set it all free.”
Early praise has already seen Clean Out Louis gain momentum at home and abroad. Their music has landed on tastemaker platforms like COLORS and Office Magazine, while Denmark’s leading music outlet GAFFA drew comparisons to boundary-pushers like Gorillaz and Stereo MC’s — nods to a lineage of pop experimentation with an emotional punch.
Individually, the duo have roots in Denmark’s underground scene: Zabello as guitarist for alt-pop act Høker, known for their radio-favourite ‘Ud Af Dig’, and Runge as drummer for Bo Madsen’s (formerly of Mew) beloved indie-kids project Turbolens.
With ‘Hold Me’, Clean Out Louis don’t just offer a song – they offer a full-blown, genre-agnostic joyride. Buckle up.
