The track features Rice’s soothing vocals which glide alongside mellow acoustics and sporadic piano, the chorus finding a slight crackle in the voice aligning with an uptick in emotion.

The entire track is understated and enjoyably so, though the gradual addition of an electric guitar twang alongside the acoustics and piano plays especially nicely toward the conclusion.

A native Brooklynite, Ben Rice has become a fixture in the local New York City music scene. At his Gowanus recording studio, Degraw Sound, Rice has produced acclaimed records for The Candles, The Skins, Elliot & the Ghost and Queue.

Fascinated by recording and songwriting from a young age, Rice began making 4-track home recordings when he was twelve and landed his first job at a recording studio at the age of sixteen. Balancing his love of recording and performing, Rice spent years touring, sharing stages with Arctic Monkeys, Band of Skulls, Brendan Benson and Cold War Kids. All the while, he honed his studio skills under the mentorship of producers Eddie Kramer (Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin), Gus Van Go and Werner F. (The Stills, Priestess).

For his solo releases, Rice called upon his friends Greg Wieczorek (drummer — Norah Jones, The Autumn Defense, Joseph Arthur) and Pete Remm (keyboardist — Norah Jones, Valerie June, Jonathan Wilson) to join him in the studio for the recording sessions. The resulting tracks channel the sounds of Americana, Indie Rock, and Brit-pop psychedelia, complementing Rice’s introspective songwriting and minimalist production.
