Callaghan Belle’s music video for “Dear Detroit” is an achingly lonely reflection of homesickness and the struggle of fitting into a world where you don’t feel accepted.

Shot in Los Angeles, Belle pays homage to her hometown of Detroit while roaming the beachy landscapes and sunshine doused sidewalks of a new city.  As she reflects on the shallow relationships and glitzy aesthetic of Hollywood, she finds a newfound comfort in the simple and sometimes rough streets where she grew up.

The beautifully shot video follows the path of someone who is learning to accept her new surroundings while still holding onto the place that built her. Listless and hopefully, it redefines the idea of home into an emotion that is equal parts fearlessness and determination.
