Emerging Brighton, UK five-piece Dreams of Empire recently released their warmly received debut album “Nothing’s Ever Finished” on their own Duck Race Recording Co. label.
With support from BBC Radio 6 Music, BBC Introducing and a host of blogs, podcasts and radio across Europe and the US, the band is gathering an enthusiastic following, evidenced by the strong turnout at their debut live show in Brighton in February.
“Infectious and immersive songs that walk on the fine line between intoxicating hazy dream-pop ambience and 90s shoegaze-infused guitar distortion, subtly underlying by modern guitar-pop energy and enriched by alluring reverb-drenched ethereal female vocals,” – White Light White Heat Dreams of Empire was started in 2018 by married duo Andrew and Jane Craig, who collaborated with maverick US producer Kramer (Bongwater, Galaxie 500) in the mid-90s.
The band’s sound blends a delicate mix of shoegaze and indie guitar influences from Ride and Lush to The Smiths and Television. Currently writing their second album, the band is planning further live shows later this year once the world returns to normal.
