‘Songs About Cars’ follows up Takeshi’s 2019 debut album, ‘To and Fro.’ Dizzying instrumentals conjure complex worlds, and piercing lyrics uncover the relatable humanity underneath it all, seeking love and fulfilment while enduring the anxieties and drudgeries of a precarious and unpredictable future.

Takeshi had a diverse set of influences from the very start. Hailing from rural Maine, he performed regularly as a cellist in orchestras, as a tenor in choirs, and as a frontman in an experimental rock band. When he moved to Vermont to complete his music degree, he began combining these influences as a solo artist.
