From Gang Life to Musical Triumph: The Empowering Journey of HoodTrophy Bino
Rising from the gritty streets of South Central LA, HoodTrophy Bino, also known as Tadashi Sayres, weaves a tale of resilience and triumph through his empowering music. Growing up in a chaotic household with fourteen siblings under one roof in Palmdale, California, life was far from easy for Bino, raised by a single mother. The allure of the gang life that surrounded him seemed inevitable, leading him down a treacherous path that landed him in and out of jail.
But amidst the violence and darkness, music became Bino’s saving grace. Introduced to the world of freestyle by his older brother, he found solace and expression in rapping. A fateful encounter with Soulja Boy during a jail stint led to an unexpected friendship that eventually landed Bino a spot on Soulja Boy’s S.O.D.M.G. label. Determined and gifted, Bino collaborated with Big Draco to release their first track “Racing In Traffic” in 2021, which set the stage for his musical journey.
Bino’s music is a reflection of his life’s ups and downs. From hard-hitting anthems like “Thuggin” to soul-stirring ballads like “Project Baby,” he bares his soul in every track. One of his notable singles, “Dripped in Designer,” featuring Soulja Boy Tell ‘Em, paints a vivid picture of distant dreams and luxury. “Most Wanted” showcases Bino’s razor-sharp flow and infectious energy, while “Project Baby” delves into his raw memories of growing up in the projects. “What You Got On” exudes opulence, capturing Bino’s post-fame reality.
In his latest single “Lavish Spazzin” featuring Spank Nitti James, Bino pays tribute to timeless elements while paving the way for a new era in hip-hop. Through his music, Bino advocates for a better future for his young children and stands as an example of triumph over adversity. He transformed a 13-year sentence into a 7-year joint suspension through good behaviour, inspiring hope in others facing similar struggles.
As an advocate for those trapped in the cycle of gang life and its harsh realities, Bino uses his platform to shed light on the trauma faced by the youth. He knows firsthand the importance of an outlet for therapy and self-expression, as he battled PTSD, anxiety, and depression.
Having shared the stage with legends like Snoop Dogg, Chris Brown, and Bow Wow, Bino’s journey is a testament to his talent and tenacity. With a new album on the horizon, he continues to inspire his generation with his prolific music. “I’m not here because I’m the best,” Bino humbly states, “I’m here because they tried to break me and they couldn’t.” HoodTrophy Bino’s story is an anthem of hope and an ode to triumph in the face of adversity.
