Fall in Love With MAGS’ Empowering New Album ‘Herified’ and Lead Single “blue”
Copenhagen’s indie pop powerhouse MAGS is back – and she’s brighter, bolder, and more unapologetically herself than ever. Her new album Herified is out now, and it’s a vibrant, pride-infused celebration of self-love, queerness, and transformation.
With Herified, MAGS (aka Margrethe Tang) delivers her most personal and kaleidoscopic work yet — eight songs that shimmer with the joy, chaos, and courage of falling in love and finding yourself.
“To me, Herified is the sound of fascination,” MAGS explains. “The title comes from taking the noun ‘her’ and turning it into a verb — herified. It’s about the shift from knowing to doing. It’s about feeling herified.”
Across the record, MAGS paints love in every shade — euphoric, heavy, messy, and true. Drawing from the emotional palette of an artist like Monet (who famously painted the same lilies over 200 times), Herified proves that there are endless ways to capture something — or someone — you love.
Musically, the album dances between quirky electronic pop, intimate confessionals, and anthemic ballads — a perfect reflection of MAGS’ evolution as both an artist and a queer woman.
“As an artist and a queer woman who has gone from searching for my reflection to truly seeing myself, it’s important for me to represent queer, female-led narratives in a world where there’s still not enough of them,” she says.
At the heart of Herified is its lead single, “blue” — a sparkling, heart-first pop anthem about the simple joy of falling in love.
“’blue’ is a song about the universal, uncomplicated joy of falling in love,” MAGS shares. “Growing up, I only heard boy-meets-girl songs. I didn’t have idols who reflected what I was feeling — women loving women. That visibility would’ve meant everything.”
Born and raised in the Danish countryside, MAGS knows what it’s like to grow up without seeing yourself represented. Herified flips that absence into empowerment — a declaration that love has no gender, and every story deserves to be sung out loud.
“Centering my sexuality on Herified isn’t about asking for sympathy,” she says. “It’s about celebrating big love — euphoric, bubbling, sexy, heavy, sad, or perfect. The kind of love everyone knows.”
With Herified, MAGS firmly cements herself as one of the most exciting voices in Nordic pop — an artist turning her truth into technicolor sound.
