With his new single “Deeper Love”, out now Calby takes a significant step forward, both musically and personally, diving further into the emotional core of his soulful sound.

Calby’s roots-inspired style is anchored by a distinctive, deeply soulful voice. When he first emerged in 2020, his debut album Burnout was recorded on nothing more than an 8-track tape recorder. Despite its technical limitations, the record introduced a songwriter with remarkable depth and a creative voice that promised far more to come.

This winter, the Copenhagen-based artist continues to expand that journey with Deeper Love. The track reveals a more sensual and emotionally open side of Calby’s songwriting, set within a cinematic soundscape. Sweeping strings glide over an organic, understated beat, lifting the song into a timeless and intimate space.

“‘Deeper Love’ is a song I wrote for the love of my life. It’s my tribute to everything we share,” Calby explains. “It’s about what we’ve been through together, how I can see myself in her scars, and how she carries them more gracefully than I ever could. It’s a declaration of love, honest, unfiltered, and without reservation.”

“Deeper Love” also marks an important step toward Calby’s forthcoming third album, which promises a more mature and unguarded portrait of the artist he is becoming.

With his distinctive take on soul and R&B, Calby has established himself as one of Denmark’s most compelling contemporary artists. His path has included both triumphs and setbacks, including a global record deal with a U.S. major label that collapsed during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Yet his 2023 sophomore release, Inner Critic’s Choice Awards, reaffirmed his resilience, showcasing a fearless songwriter continuing to evolve, refine, and push forward.
