Pennies is a song about how the world has gone mad, but we can still enjoy the little good things of life. Regardless of where you are on the political spectrum, the polarization of people is alarming and it seems there is no middle ground. “Pennies” is a reminder that you don’t have to pick a side or go down that rabbit hole – you can leave all of that behind and not get caught up in the insanity – you can still find joy in life no matter what.
The song is written and produced by Christopher Pellnat, a singer-songwriter from Hudson, NY (USA). Chris plays guitar in the band, The Warp/The Weft ( https://www.thewarptheweft.com/ ), in addition to his solo work and collaborations with various musicians.
The vocalist is Erin Pellnat, a Brooklyn, NY-based singer-songwriter who also sings in the rock band, Caretaker ( http://caretakermusic.com/ ), which is currently working on its first album.
