Sundayclub announce their debut album with hazy “Blue Wave”
Winnipeg has produced a surprising amount of music that sounds like staring out a rain-flecked window — and sundayclub fit that lineage with something close to precision. The shoegazers return with “Blue Wave,” the lead single from their debut album (out 10 July), announcing themselves with a track that sits at the exact intersection of haze and clarity.

The band occupies the space between shoegaze, slowcore, and sharply observational indie songwriting, pairing blurred, nostalgic textures with writing that turns inward: memory, identity, the specific disorientation of growing older. “Blue Wave” is measured in all the right ways — emotionally detailed without being overwrought, guitar-heavy without drowning the intimacy beneath it. Fresh from The Great Escape and a run of London dates this month, sundayclub are clearly as much a live proposition as a studio one.
The debut album, arriving 10 July, promises more of this: the hazy emotionalism that makes shoegaze compelling when it’s actually working, anchored by writing specific enough to cut through the blur. It’s a strong introduction from a band that sounds like they’ve been doing this a long time already.
