The weather forecast says ‘Blue Rain’ as the lead single from Freddy Madson’s upcoming debut EP is about to drop! The independent Dane showcases his cinematic pop with big 80’s keys, a gospel choir and breakbeats on an alternative pop song dealing with self-sabotage.

It’s been a while since the Danish newcomer debuted in the Spring of 2022 but this February, Freddy Madson is back and ready to soak you in his sound of cinematic pop delight. From the lo-fi introduction, ‘Blue Rain’ just keeps developing with sampled hip-hop beats and a distorted yet enchanting gospel choir while the presence in Madson’s sincere voice makes you pay attention to what he has got to say.

“I was in a period where I was feeling blue on and off because my music career wasn’t taking off. I dwelled on it, started comparing myself to everyone else and talked about it, time after time. It affected myself deeply but most of all it affected the people I love. I realized I had to do something about it and turn things around,” Freddy Madson tells. He continues:

“I knew we were on to something in the studio when those big, wide piano chords hit and the beat came on. The chorus appeared quickly with me just repeating the words “Blue Rain”. When all the pieces came together I felt so empowered and I hope the listener will feel the same.”

Freddy Madson knows how to make evocative, dreamy and catchy music. His debut single, ‘Hanging in the Air’, told his own honest story about broken promises and distrust after being dropped by a major label – a song that eventually made Madson regain strength and belief in himself bringing his mind and music back on track.

On the follow-up single, ‘Feels Right feat. Lleoh’, Freddy Madson took us driving beneath the flashing neon lights of the big city. Both songs hit multiple blogs and music media around the world including METAL Magazine in Spain, Dansende Beren in Belgium, A1234 in the UK and Sweety High in the US.
